Tyler Ankrum announced himself early, winning at Kentucky in 2019 as an 18-year-old Craftsman Truck Series rookie, and then learned how cruel the sport's patience test can be: the second win did not come for six years. When it finally arrived, at Rockingham in 2025 as the trucks returned to the historic North Carolina oval, it validated a career built on steadiness in between. The San Bernardino, California native has made 160 career starts, banking 15 top-fives and 35 top-10s while establishing himself as a reliable presence in the No. 18 Chevrolet for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. That six-year gap could have defined him. Instead, Ankrum kept his head down through team changes and lean seasons, maturing from teenage phenom into seasoned professional without ever losing the raw pace that won at Kentucky.
