The near-misses sting because they cluster: Sieg finished second at Iowa in 2017, second at Talladega in 2020, then endured an agonizing 2024 that brought three more runner-up finishes at Texas, Talladega, and Las Vegas in a single season. He came up through the Craftsman Truck Series, logging over a hundred starts there before settling into the second-tier series in 2013 and becoming one of its most reliable frontrunners.
